After retiring in 2009 after a long and successful career with the Auckland Warriors and the New Zealand Kiwi League team, Rugby League icon Stacey Jones returned back to his roots in Point Chevalier and took on the role of coaching the local rugby league team the Point Chevalier Pirates
When he first took over in 2009, the Pirates were playing in the third division and two years later under the leadership of Stacey, the Pirates are about to enter the first division, having lost only a few games.
Stacey joins me at the Planet FM studio and speaks frankly to me about his recipe for success, his thoughts on giving back to the community and the future of not only the Warriors, but Rugby League as well. Tune in at 9.05am this Thursday to Planet FM (104.6) or listen to the podcast here afterwards at the Planet FM website.
