Kingsland businesses got a shot in the arm during the Rugby World Cup due to their proximity to Eden Park. Or did they? Some businesses noted a drop off and some bars and restaurants reported frantically busy match days but strangely quiet on other nights.
This week I speak to Christine Foley, the manager of the Kingsland Business Society, not only on the impact of the World Cup, but also on regenerating our local shopping centres. The growth of malls have sucked the life out of local centres. Christine is an expert on turning the tide.
On the David Shearer show this week, she explains how local community centres can be rejuvenated. Listen to it live here at 9.05am on Thursday, or if you miss it catch the show here.
