The Mt Albert shopping centre desperately needs redevelopment and I am excited to be part of the process for change. Many residents have told me how the centre was once a vital and vibrant part of the community.
The railway station is finally being upgraded and I have pushed to extend its development into the shopping centre. I was pleased that the architects will incorporate into the design ideas from the Mt Albert design competition I ran with UNITEC, Auckland University and AUT last year. We all want to see Mt Albert restored to its former glory.
